Why 1 TB is the new 512 GB

A fresh Windows 11 install with Office, a browser and updates takes 60 to 80 GB before you add anything of your own. A single AAA game is 100 GB, a wedding shoot in RAW is 200 GB, Adobe and Autodesk suites run to tens of gigabytes each, and MATLAB with toolboxes passes 30 GB. That is why 512 GB laptops fill up in a year and why this page exists: every laptop here has a 1 TB or 2 TB NVMe SSD. All of them are SSDs — no hybrid or hard-disk models — so boot, launch and file copies are fast.

Two things are worth checking. Some laptops have a second M.2 slot, which lets you add a further 1 or 2 TB later; we can fit it in store. And PCIe Gen 4 drives are noticeably faster than Gen 3 for large file work, though both are fine for everyday use. If storage is your only constraint and the rest of a 512 GB laptop suits you, an in-store SSD upgrade is often cheaper than moving up a model.

Karthik Computers sells 1 TB laptops across every category — student, business, gaming, creator and refurbished — with a GST invoice, EMI on cards and free shipping across India.

Questions people ask

Is a 1 TB SSD laptop worth it?

If you edit video or photos, play large games, keep big datasets or install many professional tools, yes — a 512 GB drive fills within a year. For Office and browsing, 512 GB is enough.

Can I upgrade my laptop from 512 GB to 1 TB instead?

Usually yes. Most laptops have a replaceable M.2 SSD and some have a second slot. We do the upgrade and data transfer in store; ask before buying if you plan on it.

What is the price of a 1 TB SSD laptop in Chennai?

New 1 TB laptops start around ₹55,000 for Core i5 models and go up through gaming and creator machines. Refurbished workstation laptops with 1 TB are available for less. Message us for today's prices.

SSD or hard disk — which is better for a laptop?

SSD, always. It is several times faster, silent, uses less power and survives drops. None of our laptops ship with a hard disk as the main drive.
